About the project

The Ijaya Series is something rare — a Nigerian comic franchise that reaches back into ancient mythology, bringing the gods of old into contemporary storytelling. The ambition was clear from the start: this was not just a website, it was the home base for a growing franchise. It needed to do several things at once: house the comics, tell the story of the universe, and enable fans to buy into it, whether they are in Lagos or London.

What We Built

We built a website that matches the scale of the vision. At the centre of it is a custom comic reader — a feature designed so that readers can engage with the Ijaya series directly on the platform, fully immersed. Alongside the reader, we built a store that handles transactions in both Nigerian Naira and US Dollars, ensuring the franchise can serve its local audience without closing the door on its international one. The entire site is designed to feel like entering a universe — because that is exactly what Ijaya is.

The Outcome

Ijaya now has a digital home that holds up to the quality and ambition of the franchise itself. Readers can discover the series, read the comics, and purchase merchandise and issues with ease. The dual-currency store removes friction for both local and diaspora audiences. For a franchise rooted in Nigerian mythology with eyes on a global audience, this platform is the infrastructure that makes that reach possible.
